Tales of a transformation journey at Proton

by Jeremy Lempereur

  • Incentives that led us to make this bet
  • How we approached the transformation
  • Strategic and tactical things that worked (and didn’t!)
  • The path ahead

I have been enjoying rust for about a decade, and working with it since 2018. I had opportunities to dabble in embedded systems a little bit, before committing to high traffic web servers and all sorts of clients. After a three years rewrite of a GraphQL federation router at Apollo, I decided to contribute to Proton’s mission to foster digital freedom and privacy online.
