Extended / deeper talk about RFC PR#3881, a proposed system for reutilizing target directories between cargo build, check, and possible 3rd parties such as clippy. Currently cargo check and cargo build have to rebuild the workspace completely, and avoiding that could save great amount of time and binary size.
